3 idiots movie review
Review of the movie, 3 idiots:
3 idiots gave me one important message that the learning process is just not restricted to the classroom it can happen anywhere.
Learning is not bound to the syllabus or curriculum set by the education system.
Students should be given the liberty to choose their interests. As an aspiring
teacher, it taught me to respect student’s personal interest and encourage them
to do what they like by creating a stress-free environment.
·
Stress of academics: It is very important to ensure how students are handling stress. 3
idiots movie enlighten us about the lives of engineering students who are
limited to live their lives based on Time Table routine scheduled by the
authority. Under such pressure to perform well many students end up losing their
confidence to do anything. The famous
dialogue by Rancho, the protagonist of the story shows us to enjoy the learning
process rather than stressing over it. His famous dialogue “All is well” sets
the motto to live life stress-free without any worries.
·
Rote learning isn’t a right approach: The primary purpose of education is to educate
students in such a way that they can use their classroom learning for the
welfare of society. Though Rote learning method helps in obtaining good marks
in examination but it isn’t at all the right criteria to judge someone’s
ability. Due to rote learning student
fails to develop critical thinking, this best depicted in the scene of Chatur’s
speech that he gave on the annual day in the front of honorable education
minister.
· The democratic system of education is required: It is very important to have a democratic
education system, where students can give suggestions on how to improve it
further. Learning in the classroom takes place through mutual efforts and equal
participation. Apparently, the kind of classroom situation depicted in the
movie clearly shows how teacher in authority restrict their power to think.
·
Respect a child’s personal interest: we have seen in the movie how students are
forced to pursue the career that parents select, such pressure becomes the
biggest obstacle for students to explore a wide variety of career choices and
interests. For instance, Farhan was forced by his parents to pursue engineering
as a career option. He was compelled to leave his interest in wildlife
photography behind to obey the decision of his parents. However, later on
Farhan chooses to pursue his passion and become a famous wildlife photographer.
Conclusion:
3 idiots offered us a deep insight into the lives of students and the
kind of stress they go through in our education system. Being an aspiring
teacher, it inspired me to support students in classroom and encourage them to
share their opinion even if it goes beyond what books teach us. For students, it left an important message to
look at their studies as fun and your scores are not at all the right parameters to
judge your intelligence. This movie also encourages students to pursue their
passions without fear. People must take
risks in their lives to explore their full potential.
